With the fall licensed trial being held at Swallowfield we need all hands on deck to help get the grounds ship shape. There is a clean up day scheduled on Saturday, September 11, where there will be some hired help but we need as many bodies as possible to do the yeoman’s work of grooming so that judges have the best possible grounds to work with and safe for our dogs. Please consider lending a hand even for an hour or two, as every little bit helps. Bring your own tools – rakes, hand pruners, brush cutters, whatever you have for hand to hand combat to tackle the never ending mass of blackberry and other invasive species. You can also help by contributing to the Swallowfield Labour Fund which pays for the hired help.
CKC is behind on approving judging panels however have given permission to publish the premium with the caveat that it is pending approval and may be subject to change.

VIRC recognized John Caldwell as its 2020 Honorary member! For decades John has contributed to retriever field trials and the Vancouver Island Retriever Club as a competitor, breeder, and holding multiple positions on the Club executive. John earned many Field Trial Championships on his dogs, most notable Firwoodhill’s Dynamo (Dino), who retired with 251 (corrected from 104) AA points, and was a field trial champion as a two-year-old. Legend has it, Dino won 7 consecutive trials! Congratulations & thank you John👏
